While MV Agusta was best known for its 34 Grand Prix World Championships, it also built touring motorcycles. When MV Agusta introduced the 750GT in 1972, it was a true Grand Touring machine in the European tradition, built for fast, long-distance riding in high style. The 750 GT was wildly expensive (costing twice its nearest rival), and had no real peers, as no other motorcycle combined such elegance with technical sophistication, or had so much 1970s panache.
