Time spent riding a 1978 Yamaha DT250 with his dad exploring the desert of Saddleback Valley was magical for Eric Hendrikx. Growing up in what was then rural Orange County, California, he remembers his father, Ralph, coming home from work ready to disappear into the hills. “He’d throw me on the tank of the bike, put one of his helmets on me—it was huge and would just bobble around on my head—and we’d take off and explore,” Hendrikx recalls during a recent conversation. “I can still smell the sage and picture the cactus, the roadrunners, jackrabbits and snakes along the trails. Those rides stayed with me. So much of my life since then has been driven by that same thing: curiosity, adventure and wanting to know what else is out there.”

Powell’s had it … I bought it … just got it ..love it … if you’re in need of some casual well done motorcycle reading … highly recommended .
The mix of riders … from racers .. to crazy assed musicians ( trust me we all are in one way or another ) to photgrpaerss … whoo whoo … etc …. eclectic and interesting
And three guesses who’s ugly ( just kidding ) mug show up in the middle of the book !
Educational ? Maybe not … but damn entertaining and enjoyable … and lets face it … not everything in life has to be educational … especially when it comes to M/C people .
From the author , to the publisher … right down to the printer … everyone did a great job with this book … which err .. as an avid reader .. I can tell you … is a rare combination … even among high end and high brow books
