“In 2013 I had the distinct honor to get to spend a lot of time with John Penton making our film “PENTON, The John Penton Story“. Many trips back to Amherst, OH. A trip to Europe of almost 2 weeks in Italy and Austria with John, Jack Penton, Paul Both, Keith Martin (RIP) and Jack Martin. It was a great time to be around a true legend of motorcycling, a patriot and man who helped create an entire industry. John was 88 years old at the time and his curiosity and enthusiasm for life amazed us all. Fast forward 11 years and we are working on a new film “Blackwater: 50 Years of GNCC Racing” and we were again, blessed with getting to spend some time with John in December of last year at KTM USA’s Amherst , OH location.
He was 99. Today (August 19th, 2025) John Penton will reach a milestone that we all hope to even get close to…100 years old. In honor of John’s birthday I grabbed a few clips from John’s interview with us to share with the world. Just John being John Penton. Enjoy and make sure we all wish Mr. Penton a happy 100th birthday.” – Todd Huffman
SUMMARY
In 2013, Producer/Director Todd Huffman interviewed John Penton for the film “PENTON, The John Penton Story” narrated by Grammy Winner, Lyle Lovett. John was 88 at the time. In December of 2024 he interviewed him again for the new film “Blackwater: 50 Years of GNCC Racing” 4th KTM North America’s Amherst, OH facility in John’s hometown. He was 99 then. Here are some excerpts that won’t be in the movie of John Penton being John Penton in honor of his 100th birthday on August 19th, 2025. Enjoy this American and Global Treasure.
