MISSION R
BY MISSION MOTOR COMPANY
From San Francisco, CA, USA
In February of 2009, a breathtaking next-level electric sportbike was unveiled by Mission Motors of San Francsico – the “Mission One.” The “Mission R” is Mission Motor Company’s second-generation prototype production-intent electric motorcycle, developed in 2010 after the “Mission One.”
With a new chassis by James Parker, styling by Tim Prentice, and an all-new Mission-designed powertrain capable of 100 kW (135 HP), the Mission R dominated a 2011 TTXGP/FIM electric motorcycle race under AMA Pro Steve Rapp, winning the 8-lap race by nearly 40 seconds. The motorcycle was marketed as the “MissionRS” from 2013 until the company shut down in 2015, but never put into production.
