In 2008, Seattle artist and motor sports enthusiast David Harto took his grandfather’s 1952 motor scooter and began to transform it into a work of rolling art and lean muscle. Four record-setting attempts and thirteen years later he ventured to Utah’s storied Bonneville salt flats in the hopes of joining a short list of legends in the annals of land speed racing glory. The one thing totally unique to Bonneville is … if you can build to the safety regs …. there’s a class for you to run it in .
And damn … here I thought I’d built the coolest minibike ever back in the late 60’s .. the springer front end chopper minibike I created … raked front end and all …. oh well … there’s always somebody doing you one better … somewhere … somehow
