FILM MAKERS
Being an avid motorcycle rider as well as passionate documentary filmmaker, I had been waiting for a long time for the right story and the right moment to combine my passion for film and motorcycles. But I never expected to find a story that comes as close to my heart as this one. When I was a child, my older brother Hans became disabled after a terrible accident, and the inevitable difficulties and struggles he has since encountered on his way through life have become an important part of our relationship. – Eva Küpper
Eva Küpper is a Belgian documentary filmmaker who graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. Her film studies provided a broad background in the tradition of both fiction and documentary filmmaking, which becomes apparent in the incorporation of elements of both styles in her films. Alongside her filmic endeavours, Eva holds a position as lecturer at the Centre for Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Ghent and frequently teaches master classes on documentary filmmaking both in Belgium and abroad.

I’ve forgotten which author wrote the book ” Your Dreams are Bull**** ”
But the reality is …. this is a prime example … not only bull**** … but absolutely stupid to the umpteenth degree ….
Suffice it to say …. this is ‘ handicap ‘ access take to a ludicrous extreme .
Fact is … I’ve refused to climb ( rock or alpine ) with a handicapped person …. sail ( blue water sailing ) ride etc etc et al ad nauseam
Why ? Because if the proverbial ( bleep ) hits the fan … and you’re the one it hits … that handicapped individual is a burden and an obstacle … PERIOD ! …. not an asset … and in all extreme circumstances … you need assets … because the extreme circumstance will provide all the burdens and obstacles … you’ll ever need
e.g. Political Correctness / Woke …. at its very ludicrous lunacy worst .
Seriously ….. very seriously …. get over it …. everyone has their limits …
… and the ultimate expression of creativity … is figuring out something else to do within those limits that DOES NOT potentially harm others !
Pardon the soapbox … but this crap has gone way too far .. with more consequences than the general media would like to admit to …. lest they look less …. choke …. cough …. hack … woke .
And yeah … I DEMAND the same towards myself as well . For all the above reasons
Which is why currently … I do not ride !!!!!
God rescue us from conventional wisdom and the rampant negativism devouring our county. You’re probably the guy who told Robert Wikens his racing career was over after being paralyzed from the waist down after his Indy Car crash. Surprise he won the IMSA Pro class championship in 2023. You’r probably the guy who told Wayne Rainey 500 GP world Champion his racing days were over. Then he took up 250 Superkart racing and promptly smoked everyone. Your probably the guy who told Burt Munro that he and his obsolete Indinan were not safe to run for an AMA record. The results are history. I could go no.
What gets me about people like you is the balls you have to tell others what they as a free person can and can’t do. The only limit a free individual has in their life is a lack of imagination and fear. You diatribe reeks of both. As far as I can tell both men involved in the record run were free men freely exercising their right to risk their lives. No other lives were risked. To them and the young bull rider go for it..
I’ve been racing something with 2 wheels, 4 wheels as well as snow mobiles since 1967. At age 70 I had accepted the “conventional wisdom” that my racing days were over. Then I read about Rainey. I promptly went out and bought a 250 shifter from a 9 time National Champion. In 11 races I have won 7 times, 2nd twice, fourth once and one DNF. The 4th was at the Daytona Nationals with the Nation’s best racers in attendance. Will keep at it until I get a win there. At age 76 I will be at Bonneville this year. My class of choice is the APS-350. Current record is at 170mph. Glad I took Rainey’s experience to heart and hadn’t listened to those such as you. My racing aside, as an open ocean sailor who at age 21 took his homebuilt sloop on it’s maiden voyage from Annapolis to Bermuda single handed. I went alone because I could find no one to team up with. One thing for sure I wouldn’t want you anywhere near me in the ocean let alone the pits at Daytona.
Touché!
