The pursuit of one young man’s dream.
First off .. anyone with so much as a modicum of common sense not to mention a cursory knowledge of history … should know point blank … BEING BOUGHT OUT BY H-D IS THE KISS OF DEATH .. to both the one being bought as well as H-D itself ..
Witness Buell … Aeromachi .. MV Augusta etc etc et al ad nauseam .. .. H-D gets its grubby paws on em … and down the drain they go .. with H-D losing a ton of $$$ in the process ( oh the debt … oh the lagging sales … oh the .. hell .. everything imaginable )
Second … what happened to Alta .. is in fact the SNAFU of the 2000’s 2010’s .. ( Situation Normal All F***ed Up ) … e.g. big company out of greed/ ego buys little company .. little company gets swallowed up … big company either raids little company for valuable assets .. or dumps it on its nose
Which is to say … ALTA had its head up its posterior when it came to the H-D deal …. neither exercising any common sense .. never mind business sense … nor researching the history of H-D’s acquisition history … not to mention the simple reality that ANYONE with half a brain knows … that … the odds of H-D ever selling ANYTHING other than large ICE cruisers .. is non existent … which kind of makes the whole deal even stupider .
Making ALTA’s decision based solely on desperation
And as my very well heeled Business Prof ( multi millionaire in the 70’s ) back in the good ole days of critical thinking and common sense continually said ;
” Never ever make a business decision based on either desperation ( ALTA ) or Ego / Greed ( H-D ) ”
Both of which played the major role in this ill fated mess .
So to ALTA’s former EO’s .. to paraphrase HST … ” You bought the ticket suckers .. and you got the ride ” .. e.g. quit yer damn whining
As for H-D .. pull yer heads out .. focus on what you do … and quit ruining others businesses in the pursuit of Anarcho Capitalist ideology … not to mention … learn from yer recent past and drop the whole corporate cronyism schtick which has only proven to be to yer detriment
Seriously … just when you think politics has become as stupid as it can get … corporations take it all ten steps further ..

To anyone wondering what exactly is the problem with EV M/C’s ( other than the usual plethora of EV ills including weight – complexity – range – charging [ EV batteries in fact ALL batteries according to engineers from Toyota to BMW are garbage ] – EV’s NINBY issues { not in my backyard } – all the issues surrounding the rare earth and minerals availability ( China owns 80- 90% of all sources outright ) not to mention the consequences of mining them … phew …. etc … et al .. ad nauseam ….and on and on and ………

Yeah…. its the 4th … and yeah I’m recommending a Canadian show .. so what of it .. in the words of ” Firefly’s ” Mal … ” I aim to misbehave ” … not to mention my very own ” Commit Random Acts of Defiance ” … cause ultimately .. its a damn fine show and thats all that really matter despite what some may think
Keep Canada Canadian .. Keep Greenland Danish .. and finally after some 250 years of constantly ” bleeping” up everything from the US Constitution to POTUS & SCOTUS … lets finally make things RIGHT … according to the very laws we supposedly stand for !

I mean … lets get serious … NO EV M/C company or brand has ever been so much as ‘ breaking even ‘ .. never mind thriving . And ALTA ? A fly speck on the face of M/C manufacturing of whom nobody gave a rats posterior about . Which then begs the question… WTF did H-D buy into them ? Oh yeah … that egomaniacal Anarcho Capitalist ‘ hubris’ … gotta grow bigger … gotta buy out the competition mentality thats put companies like H-D , KTM etc into the financial black hole they’re currently in
Honestly … have you ever seen even the hint of an ALTA … or even so much as a glimpse of any EV M/C on the dirt , road or even on the back of a trailer / pickup truck ? Cause gotta tell ya … living in M/C crazy Colorado … I sure as hell haven’t !
So lets get real … and drop the whole ALTA thing … it aint a story worth repeating and there aint no lessons to be learned .. ..
…unless not being blind sided stupid can be considered … a lesson
But here’s a lesson fer ya ..
